If I Could I Would. . .

So I was cleaning my kitchen for the third time today. . .you know, the usual wiping the counters, the kitchen table, putting away clutter, rinsing and placing the dishes in the dishwasher and I thought, wouldn't it be amazingly awesome if I could close up my kitchen like I do my dishwasher, place a cup of cleaning agent in the door, push a few buttons and then come back in an hour or so after I've had lunch with my friends, to open the door to a sparkling clean and sanitized kitchen. Wouldn't that be wonderful? If I could I would. . .

If I could I would make every summer month July.
If I could I would erase my memory of all Seinfeld episodes so that I can experience them again for the first time. (Especially the one where Kramer finds the Merv Griffin set in the trash)
If I could I would bring back Bugs Bunny, Road Runner and Mr. Magoo cartoons.
If I could I would sing a solo in sacrament meeting. I would sing my heart out, if I could.
If I could I would abolish chain letter emails.
If I could I would live at the beach and swim at sunset every night.
If I could I would live in a different country for one month every year.
If I could I would cook like my sisters-in-law Linda, Claire and Adie.
If I could I would get a massage every day.
If I could I would look into my mom's eyes and tell her I love her.
If I could I would make bread bi-weekly. (Cindy will help me with that one.)
If I could I would cool off October and November in So CA.
If I could I would live near my best besty, blood sister, Alli.
If I could I would play the guitar right now.
If I could I would speak Spanish fluently.
If I could I would go back to the late 90s when apple stock was like $7 a share and buy it instead of the apple G3 computer we purchased.
If I could I would buy my dad a completely restored Model A and while I am at it. . .
If I could I would get my self a 1966 289 convertible mustang with pony interior.
If I could I would have a garden in which every plant produced a flower for my house or fruit for my kitchen.
If I could I would have fresh flowers, in every room, everyday.
If I could I would be really good at tennis so I could humble Allison. (Doesn't she look like she needs to be humbled?)
If I could I would paint portraits of each of my children with rich, vivid oils.
If I could, and I want to, I would celebrate every moment for the joy it brings and leave all the rest behind.
Santa Cruz Island
If I could I would be here tomorrow!

If you could, what would you do. . .
Don't leave me hangin' dream it, share it, have some fun.

Sometimes, when things are almost too hard to bear, I would move back to California and spend time with my friend Stacy who always knows how to make me smile, if I could...

If I could I would be admitted into Dr. McDreamy's hospital and get CPR from him. . . . if I could I would live right next door to Stacy and have nightly rock/paper/scissors tournaments. . . . if I could I would travel to every event that was important to my friends and family. . . if I could I would beat Stacy soundly in a game of tennis. . . oh wait, scratch that last one. . . . if I could, I would eat subs from the Avenue Deli in New Providence every meal. . . if I could I would go back in time and relive when my kids were babies. . . . if I could I would write books and travel around the country meeting interesting people and signing my books with a flourish.
Love your post. . . as always!!

If I could I would take my cup that was already half full and add a little more. I would take more time to look back and appreciate my past and present. I would take more time to plan for the future. I'd make naps a national daily requirement for 20 minutes. I would eat more vegetables and less mmmmm-Almond Snickers Bars. . . . Honestly, I can't do that one. I would have a 34 inch waist and 46 inch shoulders because that is what my doctor says I need to NOT be OBEAST... C'mon!!!! I would tell my wife and kids that I love them every hour of every day ... Now I can do that one but it may make them weary. I would say 'yes' more than 'no', 'more' more than 'less', and ask for directions when 'prompted' by my wife. If I could I would do it all over again.

If I could I would .....
Go back to 2001 and take my schooling seriously.
Find Dan an incredible and fulfilling job.
Have Presley know every moment how much I love her, always and forever.
Buy myself a car, any car, doesn't matter the shape or size, just a car to have at my own will- that runs.
Do something creative everyday.
Spend a day with Robby in the Philippines. Seeing him in action, meeting some of the people he loves so much, laughing with him.
Be a runner. I am no good at it.
Make REAL DEL MAR an annual trip! Same house, same group, me winning at Roshambo every time :)
Find a neighborhood that would house and employ all my soul sisters and their families.
Be able to eat every baked good, bread, and ice cream scoop I ever wanted all while maintaining a Judy Stowell bod.
Have free flights to travel the world with Dan.
Take away my Mother's pain. I would make it so that she could see perfectly with no complications ever.
Live in a place called California that was as is but cooled down in October and snowed only on Christmas and it's Eve.
Watch every funny movie with my Dad, just to hear him laugh that hard.
Write like my Aunt Stacy! I love you Stace, thanks for the fun post!!

Here goes, Stacy ...

If I could I would live on the same street as all of my family and friends so we could feel very safe together.

If I could I would be more focused on things that last forever and less focused on things that last a few moments.

If I could I would make the time you spend at the gym or working out not count against your total time allotment for the day.

If I could I would grant my kids one wish everyday - anything they want.

If I could I would go to Canada for Christmas just like we did last year, and ski for a week with my boys.

If I could I would open a little time-warp continium into Houston, Texas and just spy on Brendan so I could share more in his joy.

If I could I would have the same body I had when I was 20 with all of the experience I have now that I'm 40+.

If I could I would be finished with school this week and have a nice 9-3 (3 days/week) job waiting for me.

I would love to freeze my family and never let my kids get any older than they are right now. I love the way they are right now. Also, if I could, I would get a nap every single day, have Rubio's for dinner every single night, and read a good book every single week.
